We thought that it might be nice for dad, mum and San to go out by themselves for a day. They go to the Chinese Gardens in Sydney and take the ferry to Manly. They have a wonderful day and we just enjoy a quiet day at home.

Waterfall Walk in de Blue Mountains
Even though my dad said that he would never go for a walk in the Blue Mountains with us again, after that tough walk, we are going to do the Waterfall Walk, in the Blue Mountains. The weather is wonderful and at the waterfalls it is always nice and cool. There is not a lot of water in the waterfalls, but they still look very good. We also see a few lizards on our way. And at one of the waterfalls there are people fishing for yabbies (little lobsters). They put a piece of sausage on a string and they catch quite a few yabbies. We will never go barefoot intp the water here, especially because there is an eel in the water as well. The walk is not very easy, but there are a lot of spots to stop on the way and enjoy the beautiful nature and the peace and quiet, so it is a very nice walk. And playing near the waterfalls and in caves is always a lot of fun. We enjoy this wonderful day in nature.

De dames shoppen in Sydney / The ladies are shopping in Sydney
We loved Sydney so much yesterday, mum, San and I decided to go again today. But today we are going shopping. Of course we go to the well known and beautiful mall in the Queen Victoria Building. And we also go to a huge Myer. There is a very big floor with only lingerie. Unbelievable, how can you choose something here. For us, only the Myer is as big a whole mall and that is only one store! But all right, we have a great day and mum and San buy clothes and shoes. It was a good shopping day.

We gaan een dagje naar Sydney / We are going to Sydney
Today we are exploring Sydney again. We drive to Five Dock Wharf at Drummoyne, park the cars there, and take the ferry. That is always a lot of fun, and you have a good view of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. We walk the same route as we always do: past the Opera House, the Botanic Gardens, Hyde Park, the Sydney Tower and Darling Harbour. At Darling Harbour we have dinner and then we take the ferry back to the cars. The kids are tired because it was a long, but very nice day. Sydney is really a nice city.

Naar Basin Beach bij Mona Vale / Basin Beach at Mona Vale
We have not been to the beach with the family yet and today the weather is very nice. So we are going to the beach, to Basin Beach at Mona Vale. We have a wonderful day here. Fleur and Daan build a sand castle with grandma and auntie San, and with grandpa and auntie San they walk around the beach. Before we go home we drive to Mona Vale Headland (very close to the beach) from where you have a great view over the area.

Kerstmis 2008 / Christmas 2008
Finally it is Christmas and under the Christmas tree there are a lot of presents. Fleur and Daan can hardly wait until they can open all the presents. Everybody has got great gifts. The rest of the day we just take it easy. And in the evening we have a real Aussie meal, we have a bbq!!

Kerstinkopen doen en San is 30 jaar vandaag!! / Christmas shopping and San is 30 years today!!
Vandaag is San jarig.
There was still a lot of Christmas shopping to do and that is what we did yesterday. Erik and dad stayed home with the kids and mum, San and I went shopping in Castle Hill. We were away the whole day, but we had bought everything we needed, so we are done for Christmas now. I am glad that everything went well.
Today is San’s birthday. She turns 30 and we made here a very nice cake. Fleur and Daan did their very best with decorating it and it looks very good. Katrina and Des came over as well and they could also enjoy our wonderful cake.

Wandelen in de Blue Mountains / Walking in the Blue Mountains
Today we are going to the Blue Mountains. First we go to Kings Tableland. We enjoy the view and also have a look at the cave. Everyone is enjoying the wonderful views and the peace and quiet. After that we take the scenic route to Echo Point. There we have something to eat and have a look at the Three Sisters. We are going to do the same walk as we did with Walter. Take the Giant Stairway down and then on the Dardanelles Pass and the Federal Pass to the Scenic Railway. The walk is not so easy and my dad is complaining every time we have to walk up. It also is good that he did not know that the train track is so steep, because then he would not have wanted to go up with it, but on the other hand, walking back to the Giant Stairway was no option either. When we arrive at the top we have a drink first. Erik and I want to walk back to Echo Point and dad, mum and San will take the kids in the Scenic Skyway so they do not have to walk the whole way back. Unfortunately we are just too late for the Scenic Skyway, the last one has just left, and so we all have to walk back the whole way. But we all make it back to the car and feel really good after all.

Een stuk van de Bondi naar Coogee wandeling / Part of the Bondi to Coogee walk
Because the weather is good and Erik also has not been to Bondi Beach before, we decide to go to Bondi Beach and walk part of the Bondi to Coogee walk. It is a great walk with beautiful views over the sea. Fleur and Daan are doing very well during the walk. We walk up to Waverley Cemetery just past Bronte Beach. We eat something there and rest for a while. After that we walk back to Bronte Beach and have a play with the kids on the beach and have a drink. Then we walk back to Bondi. It is really a great and wonderful walk.

We gaan naar Featherdale / We are going to Featherdale
Our first trip with all of us is to Featherdale. The wildlife park close by. The children are always excited when we are going there, and for people from Holland it is a nice way to get to know all the Australian animals. You walk between the kangaroos and wallaby’s, and you can take a picture with a koala. And of course they have spiders, snakes, a crocodile, dingos and a lot of different types of birds. So there is much to see and everyone enjoys it.

Een lekker dagje thuis / A nice day at home
We have a quiet day today. It is Fleur’s last school day and then it is her summer holiday. After school the kids are jumping on the trampoline. They love showing all the tricks they have already learned. It also is Erik’s last day at work and he has two week holiday now. It is a good feeling knowing everyone is free to do what we want to do. We are also having our first bbq with the family today. It tastes very good, Erik is becoming a real Aussie with the bbq.
There is also a very beautiful spider in our garden. It is a St. Andrews’s Cross Spider. Because it is not a dangerous one, we just leave it.

Naar playgroup en Erik heeft een kerstfeest / To playgroup and Erik has a X-mas party
This morning grandpa, grandma and San are going with us to playgroup. Playgroup is little bit different then usual because it is the last day before the holidays. But at least they can meet the mums and kids that we always talk about. And Daan loves showing them where he is playing each week. Erik has a X-mas party from work today. And after that they are probably going to have a drink with some people at a pub. So he will not be home for dinner. When we are just about to have dinner it starts to rain and because the sun is shining too, there comes a beautiful rainbow in the sky. Unfortunately the rainbow is too close to our home, so I cannot take one picture off the whole rainbow, but I still made some great pictures as you can see. We pick up Erik in Balmain later that evening, fortunately not too drunk. He had a good time and got to know some of his colleagues a lot better.

Naar de film en lunch op school / To the movies and lunch at school
Fleur is going to the movies today with her class. They are going to Madagascar 2 Return to Africa. We have to go to school a little bit earlier and then they will take the bus to the cinema. Together with San(dra) I bring Fleur to school and we wait till the bus leaves so we can wave her goodbye. In the afternoon they have lunch at school. Parents can come as well so we all go there together (only Erik has to work). After lunch we go to Fleur’s class because they are only doing some craft and games. And Daan could also play with the other kids in class. Now grandpa, grandma, and San have seen Fleur’s classroom. It was a nice afternoon.
16 december 2008
Opa, oma en tante San zijn er!!!!! / Grandpa, grandma and auntie San are here!!!!!
Finally the time has come. Today grandpa, grandma and auntie San(dra) (my parents and sister) are arriving. They land at 8.15pm at Sydney Airport. Of course we are picking them up all together. We have to take two cars and Erik is going straight from work to the airport. The plane lands on time and they had a good, but long (more then 23 hours) flight. So we drive home quickly and do not go to bed too late (just a little bit). Really wonderful that they are here now!!

Kerst ontbijt en feestje / Christmas breakfast and party
This morning we have a Christmas breakfast from the playgroup church. It is very nice again and the food is also very good. Fleur and Daan are having a great time as well. In the afternoon Fleur and I are going shopping for a while and in the evening we have a party of one of Erik’s colleagues. Early in the evening people with children can come and later in the evening people without children are coming. Good idea to give a party where we both can go to because we can take the kids as well. We are having a nice time and so are Fleur and Daan. On our way back home we drive trough a couple of streets wit a lot of Christmas decorations outside. What a light in those streets. But there are also a lot of people walking around in the streets and that makes it nice (for 5 minutes, not for our house).

Eindejaars assembly bij Fleur op school / End of the year assembly at Fleur's school
Bijna alle kinderen doen heel erg goed hun best.
Today the end of the year assembly is on again. We already got a letter from the school that Fleur will be receiving an award. So we go there all together. The assembly has been split in two so it is an assembly with kindergarten, year 1 and year 2. All classes are also doing a song which is very nice. All the children are doing their best. This assembly Fleur gets an award from her ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher for “exceptional improvement in reading”. Fleur is already at a higher level with reading than she is supposed to be at the end of this year. She has done really well. We are very proud of her and we had a lot of fun at the assembly.

Wandelen bij West Head en bbq bij de Stewarts / Walking at West Head and bbq at the Stewarts
We are going for a walk in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park again. We go to West Head, in the northeast corner of the park. We start at West Head Lookout. You have a fantastic view of the environment. We walk to Resolute Beach. We take a break here so Fleur and Daan can play on the beach. It is a very warm day today (about 32 degrees) and that is very exhausting. The beach is always a lot of fun for the kids, it is a big sand pit with water. We decide to not take the same way back because we have to climb up a lot. We take the Headland Track and West Head Track now. A big part is pretty flat now and that is not so hard to walk. The only thing is that there is no shade here, but luckily it is still clouded and we do not get sunburned. Only at the end of the walk the sun comes through, but we have almost reached the forest now.
The walk was great and we drive home quickly to take a shower because we are going to Michael, Nicole and the kids (Talia, Boston and Maia) for a bbq. We have a wonderful time and kids can play outside for a while. The food is yummy and it is already pretty late when we go back home.

X-mas Party bij het zwembad / X-mas Party at the swimming pool
There is a Christmas Party at the swimming pool this afternoon. I go there with Fleur and Daan so they can have a nice play. They have jumping castles, climbing frames, face painting and a lot more. They really have a great time.

Dance Concert van Fleur
Finally the time has come. Today Fleur has her Dance Concert (from her dancing lessons). She has to do two dances, jazz and tap. The concert starts at 2pm, but Fleur has to be there at 12.30pm. She has to arrive at the theatre in her jazz costume with her hair in a sleek bun (with no fringes) and with a lot of make up. Together with Gemma’s mum we do the hair and make up at our house. It is a lot of work, but finally everything looks very good. The concert is nice, just a bit long. Fleur is doing very well with her jazz and tap dances and she loved doing it.

Daan gaat naar een feestje / Daan is going to a birthday party
Today we do not have playgroup, but the birthday party of Daniel and Jessica, twins from playgroup. It is a very warm day and the party is outside which is very nice. They have arranged two people who make swords and butterflies with balloons and paint the hands and arms of the kids. We have a lot of fun at all these kids party’s.

Games Day bij Fleur op school / Games Day at Fleur's school
Just like last year they have Games Day at Fleur’s school this afternoon. Daan and I also go to school because a day like this is fun for him as well. Of course Fleur is walking around with Gemma and they take Daan with them. They have already painted their nails and together they go face painting, getting a tattoo on their arms, decorate a cookie and colour in. Fleur and Gemma can also go, with their own class, on a jumping castle they have today. So it was a fun afternoon again.

Liefs Erik, Mariëlle, Fleur en Daan
We wish everybody a very Merry Christmas!!!
Here the text of Aussie Jingle Bells (like in the movie above)
Dashing through the bush, in a rusty Holden Ute,
Kicking up the dust, esky in the boot,
Kelpie by my side, singing Christmas songs,
It's Summer time and I am in my singlet, shorts and thongs
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut !,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.
Engine's getting hot; we dodge the kangaroos,
The swaggie climbs aboard, he is welcome too.
All the family's there, sitting by the pool,
Christmas Day the Aussie way, by the barbecue.
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.
Come the afternoon, Grandpa has a doze,
The kids and Uncle Bruce, are swimming in their clothes.
The time comes 'round to go, we take the family snap,
Pack the car and all shoot through, before the washing up.
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden ute

Een weekend naar Port Stephens / A weekend at Port Stephens
Today is finally the day. We are going on a holiday for a long weekend with Katrina to Port Stephens. We leave around 4pm because Fleur has to go to school as well. Unfortunately there is a big traffic jam and we arrive a lot later than we hoped. We have a cabin at One Mile Beach. It is a very nice en spacious cabin. This is going to be a great weekend. Only the weather predictions are not that good.
22 november 2008
We all slept very well last night en this morning I first went for a run (actually more a walk) on the beach. After a nice brekkie we go to the tourist info to see what things we can do today. It is very windy, so we have to consider that as well. We have lunch on the beach near Tomaree Head and after that we walk up towards the lookout. It is a tough climb. When we get back to the car, a nice couple tells me that there is a koala in a tree near the path to the beach. You can even see it from the parking area. Of course we are going to have a closer look. This is our first koala in the wild. This is really great. When we get back to the cabin we decide to go for a swim with the kids for a while. The water is cold and it is still very windy so outside the water it is really chilly as well. But it was nice and refreshing.
23 november 2008
Helaas.
Today is again a bad day with the weather. First I go for a run on the beach again, but the wind is so strong that I sometimes have to stop because I get too much sand in my face. We were supposed to go on a dolphin watch today, but we postponed it until tomorrow because it is still very windy. We drive to Nelson Bay again and go look in some shops (really, and it was even Erik’s idea). After that we have lunch at a little restaurant in Nelson Bay. Because the weather is still not good, we drive to a lookout at Lily Hill Road after lunch. You have a fantastic view of the surroundings here. After that we drive to Big Rocky. We do have to walk a while before we get there. Big Rocky is exactly what the name says. A big pile of rocks. It is very nice there with the surrounding sea. There are also a lot of shells and we collect all the pretty and big ones to take home. When we get back to the cabin, we go for a short walk because they say there are koala’s in trees around the park. We climbed up a hill, but of course we did not see any koala’s at all. They were probably just hiding for us. Too bad.
24 november 2008
Gelukkig konden we een late check-out doen.
It is going to be a busy day today. First we have a 4WD tour at the Stockton Sand Dunes. There are two guides and so there are two cars. We are in one car with the five of us and in the other car is another family. After driving for about 10 minutes, we see a car standing still in the sand. That car was driving too close to the water, through the quicksand and got stuck. We drive to the car and we can walk and stand in the quicksand ourselves. They try to get the car out of the quicksand but it is not working. After two attempts we go on with our tour (and they call a tow truck). We drive through the dunes, on and off steep dunes. We drive off a very steep dune, which is very exciting. When we get to the bottom, I go out of the car to take pictures when the cars drive off the steep dune again. After that we drive on that dune again and we go sand boarding. On a board that looks like a skate board without wheels you go off the hill. You have to sit on it with your feet against a piece of wood and with your hands behind you in the sand. When you hold your hands in the sand the whole time, you will not fall over. Fleur goes on a board by herself and she is doing very well. Daan goes with me on a board and once with Erik. It is heaps of fun; the only bad thing is that you have to climb up the dune with that stupid board every time. But it was a fantastic experience and this was a super fun morning.
When we get back to the cabin we go have a quick look at the beach. The kids play for a little while and then we have to go back to the cabin to take a shower en have a bite to eat.
And then it is time for the dolphin watch. The boat sails to some other boats because they saw dolphins there. They lower a boom net in which you can sit in your swim wear (but the water is only 16 degrees now so we are not going in there, Fleur was very disappointed). We do see a lot of dolphins today. It is great to see them swimming next to the boat or under the front of the boat from one side to the other. You keep on running from side to side. It was fantastic. And before we go back to the harbour they ride the big waves. Straight on a big wave so the boat is bouncing up and down. You really had to hold on tight or else you would probably fall. We had a great day today.
Luckily we could have a late check-out. After the dolphin watch we quickly drive back to the cabin to pack the rest of our stuff. We leave around 5pm. Because it is almost dinner time already, we decide to look for a restaurant and have dinner before we drive home.
It was really a wonderful weekend.

Naar de Santa Parade in Rouse Hill / Going to the Santa Parade at Rouse Hill
Because Erik has gone fishing today, I take Fleur and Daan to the Santa parade in Rouse Hill. It is not a very big parade, but it is a lot of fun for the kids. They can even give Santa a high five (Santa is very cool nowadays). We also met Reem (a mother from playgroup) with the kids which was very nice. After the parade we went shopping for a little while and then went back home. Christmas time has really started now.
Vissen bij Berowra Waters / Fishing at Berowra Waters
Heerlijk!
Vissen? Oh ja, we gingen vissen.
Some of you may know that Daan’s playgroup is organised through a church. A couple of the men (young and older) go on a fishing trip a couple of times a year. I have gotten to know a couple of them and they invited me to come along. Of course; sounds great. Saturday 7am we assembled and it took a little less than an hour to reach Berowra Waters. That’s north of Sydney at the end of the Hawkesbury river. I have never been there before and it is beautiful, take a look at the pictures. They rented a boat there and brought food and drinks. Because I don’t have any fishing gear myself, I could borough stuff from everybody. For bate most of them used prawns, but that didn’t work for me. I tried for hours but the hook was clean before I noticed anything had happened.
But fishing is not about fishing. It was mostly a fun morning on the water with a lot of talk about nothing. It was a mixed company of all Australians, so learned stuff as well (at work there are more Europeans and Asians than there are Australians). I finally managed to catch something: a puffer fish. Never saw him before but apparently the skin is poisonous. Bruce got a set of pliers and removed the hook very professionally.
One thing I forgot to mention about the boat: it has got bbq! What else. Bbq’s are everywhere; in the park, near the beach. And when they are not there, people bring them along themselves. At noon, the esky was opened, bags of meat appeared and the bbq was lit. And in no time I was struggling with a big sandwich with sausages, bacon, egg, tomato and union. Yummy! And then another one, but that was enough. When everybody was done, we drove back to the harbour. The view was spectacular. And it wasn’t just me who thought that. Along the shore, a number of houses had been built, only reachable by boat. And people are living here permanently so shopping starts with a little boat trip.
After safely reaching the shore, the four of us (who shared a car driving up) went for a coffee in a nearby café and spent some time talking. It was a very nice way to spend a Saturday morning, good company and good food. Fishing? That’s right, we went fishing.

Today we had another talk at Daan’s pre school. They told us about how a day at pre school goes and what you have to bring. Daan enjoyed it a lot to go there again. And we also saw our neighbour Jaki, because she works there. Only 2 ½ months and he is going to pre school, and he can hardly wait to go.

Christmas Party Trophy Day
Fleur’s dance school is having a Christmas Party Trophy Day today. It is at Life Adventure Site in Kurrajong, about 50 minutes drive. Luckily the weather is very good today so we have a great day. There is a swimming pool and a playground. Gemma is also there with her sister Jorgia and the rest of the family so the kids are having a great time. At noon all the children from the dance school receive a trophy for all the good work they have done this year. And after that they have a sausage sizzle. At the end of the afternoon we go back home and on the way we stop to have a bite to eat.

Christmas card making workshop
The church where Katrina is going to was having a Christmas card making workshop. Katrina and Jaki were going and I went with them. We made two different cards. It was very nice to do, but it is very time consuming to make your own cards. So I do not think I will make my own Christmas cards this year. But the two cards that I have made look very good (at least I think so….) and we had a nice evening.

Zwemmen na de zwemles / Swimming after the swimming lesson
On Monday Fleur has her swimming lesson and lately Daan sometimes has a swim as well. Today Erik is coming to the swimming lesson too and he will also go for a swim. After the swimming lesson the three of them go for a swim and a play in the water. Fleur and Daan love it that Erik is there too and the waves in the pool are a lot of fun. Just have a look at the pictures.

Ik ben jarig vandaag (34 alweer) / It is my birthday today (34 already)
Today is my birthday. We decide to just have a nice and quiet day. Fleur and Daan make some beautiful things for me in the morning with the help of Erik (he was glad that they were finished after more than an hour). We bake a cake and Fleur and Daan decorated it together. And in the afternoon Katrina came over as well. It was a very nice day.

Thanksgiving Dinner
The church of our playgroup had a Thanksgiving Dinner today. We were invited as well because the children of playgroup (with their parents) were doing two songs like we do them during playgroup. The children liked it a lot and we did not do too badly. All the food was made by different people of the church and it was very good. It was a very nice night and they also sang for me because it is my birthday tomorrow.

Fleur spreken bij de assembly en ze zingen / Fleur is on stage with the assembly and they sing
Today the hosting of the whole school assembly was done by Fleur’s class and a year 2 class. Fleur got to go on stage to say something again and she did very well. Fleur is not shy at all when she is on stage. These two classes also did a song. The music did not work well the whole time, and not all of the children liked to sing and dance, but it was very nice to watch.

Today Fleur had a birthday party again. It was the birthday party of Stephanie and it was in the same indoor playground as where she already has had another party. That time she also got a ticket for a free entry. And so I took Daan to the indoor playground and they both had a fun day out.

Een dagje naar Dee Why Beach / A day at Dee Why Beach
Today we are going to the beach. We go to Dee Why Beach. The weather is nice but with a little bit of wind. We find a nice spot not too far from the sea. Before we all find a good spot in the sand we see two lifeguards running in the water. But the rescue mission can be stopped because the man walks back to the beach by himself, he probably had a cramp. Fleur and Daan go and play in the sand and after that they go in the sea with Erik. The waves are pretty strong here, but they love it. Fleur and Daan play in the waves alone as well. When a waves comes rolling towards them they run away. They are having a lot of fun with that. Until Daan trips, the wave nocks him over, goes over him completely and even makes him roll around an extra time through the sea and the sand. Daan is covered in sand and is soaking wet. We dry him and he sits with me for a while to warm up a bit (the seawater is freezing cold). After that he straight away wants to go back in the sea, but with Erik this time. And then something else, we had moved all our stuff backwards already because the sea was coming pretty close. A little bit away from us were people that had not done that and they got completely swiped away by the sea. A lot of their stuff was dragged into the sea, it was funny to watch but I think those people were not happy at all. But, we had a great day at the beach, only sometimes it was a little bit chilly because of the wind. As a good end of the day (and for Erik’s birthday) we went out to dinner in a nice little restaurant in Dee Why; we had good food and a good time.

Fleur’s class is hosting the small assembly today. Fleur does not have to sit on stage to say something this time. But Fleur’s class is also doing a little story and Fleur is the narrator of the story. We practice hard at home this week and it is going very well (the only problem is holding the microphone close to her mouth and going to the next page). It is a nice story about three elephants and all the children are doing their best. We thought it was a lot of fun.

Erik is jarig vandaag (39 alweer) / It is Erik's birthday today (39 already)
Today is Erik’s birthday. The kids made some beautiful things for him and yesterday we bought a couple of nice presents. Because Erik has to go to work today and Fleur has to go to school, we sing early in the morning and after that we give all the presents. And Fleur has dancing lessons today, so we cannot go out to dinner tonight either. But we will do that on the weekend. In the evening Katrina and Des come over with a present for Erik as well and so the day went by very quick.

Wandelen bij Wentworth Falls / Walking at Wentworth Falls
We hope that the parking area at, and the paths to Wentworth Falls are open again because we want to walk the Cliff Top Circuit. Unfortunately the parking area is still closed for renovation and part of the track is too. But some paths are open, so we can walk to Wentworth Falls. So that is what we do. The track is a bit muddy at some places and you have to walk under rocks, so the walk is little bit adventurous. And when you are on top of Wentworth Falls, it is wonderful. We have lunch there and Fleur and Daan (and Erik) play near the water. We have the option of taking the same way back or walk the Charles Darwin Trail. Because we do not like to walk the same way twice, we take the last one. Daan walks the whole way himself (about 3 km) which is going very well because a big part of the track you walk on wooden trails. Erik almost plants his big feet on some sort of lizard (we do not yet know which one, see picture), but it continues walking seemingly undisturbed. It is a nice walk altogether and at the end of the track there is a playground where Fleur and Daan can play for a while. Erik walks to the car to drive it to the parking place next to the playground. And so we did have a nice walk after all.

De dames gaan een dagje uit / The lady's are going out for a day
Jaki and Katrina asked me yesterday evening if I wanted to go to the Camden Craft Markets with them today. I loved to go but the only thing was that they wanted to leave at 9 am. And I first had to go to my exercise class from 6.45 am to 7.45 am (yes, for everyone that did not know it, I exercise twice a week for an hour early in the morning). But everything went well and I am ready just in time to go with them and we are going to have a fun day out. The market is very nice and we also have lunch somewhere in Camden before we drive back home. But because it is still early, we decide to go to the Parklea Markets (undercover markets) as well because I had not been there before. We had a great day and I will probably go to more markets with them in the future.

We gaan naar Horton hears a Who / We are going to Horton hears a Who
Katrina had asked us if we wanted to see the movie Horton hears a Who. The church that she goes to, was showing that movie on a big screen outside. Before the movie started there was of course a sausage sizzle and a lot of activities for the children. Fleur and Daan painted plasters, decorated a cookie and got their faces painted. And they have just played until it was dark enough for the movie to start. We all sat on a couple of picnic blankets in the grass and the movie was of course a lot of fun. We had a great evening.
