We wandelen de Nature Track bij Wentworth Falls / We walk the Nature Track at Wentworth Falls

Vandaag wilden we de Cliff Top Circuit gaan lopen bij Wentworth Falls. De wandeling zou beginnen bij parkeer- en picknickplaats van Wentworth Falls, maar deze was afgesloten. Het rondje zou langs de Conservation Hut gaan (hier kun je wat eten en drinken), dus zijn we daar heengereden om te kijken of er informatie was over welke wandelingen er wel nog te lopen waren. Eenmaal daar bleek dat er ook een stuk van het pad afgesloten was. Ze waren het pad en de parkeer- en picknickplaats aan het verbeteren. We hebben hier op de kaart gekeken en besloten om de Nature Track te lopen. Die staat ook in ons boekje en dat was wel zo fijn. We liepen de wandeling andersom dan de meeste andere mensen, want in het begin kwamen we al meer mensen tegen. Maar de meeste tijd liepen we weer lekker alleen en was het heel erg mooi en stil. We hebben veel mooie uitzichten en allerlei wilde bloemen onderweg gezien. Aan het einde hadden we nog een aantal metalen trappen (erg fijn, niet dus) met boven twee hele mooie uitzichtpunten. En daarna helaas nog een stuk omhoog over stenen trappen. Een hele klim dus, maar wel een hele fijne en mooie wandeling. Daarna zijn we naar Leura gereden en hebben Fleur en Daan nog even in een speeltuin gespeeld. We zijn ook nog even bij de vlakbij gelegen Leura Cascade Lookout gaan kijken, en hier hadden we nog een heel mooi overzicht over de Blue Mountains. We hebben in Leura bij een restaurantje gegeten dat er niet heel geweldig uitzag, maar het eten was gelukkig wel lekker. Met kinderen zijn er niet veel mogelijkheden om te eten in Leura ’s avonds, helaas.

Today we wanted to do the Cliff Top Circuit at Wentworth Falls. The walk should start at the parking and picnic area of Wentworth Falls, but that was closed. The circuit would go past the Conservation Hut (you can have a refreshment here), so we drove there to see if they had some information about which walks you could still do. When we arrived there, we found out that also a part of the track was closed. They were refurbishing the path and parking and picnic area. So we had a good look at the map there and decided to do the Nature Track. That one was in our book as well, so that was good. We walked the track the other way around than most people did, because at the start we came across some other people. But most of the time we were there all by our selves and it was very beautiful and quiet. We had wonderful views and saw pretty wildflowers. And at the end we had a couple of steel stairs (very nice, not) but with a wonderful view at the top. And after that there were of couple of stone step stairs up. So we had a good climb, but the walk was great. After that we went to Leura and Fleur and Daan played at a playground. We also had a look at nearby Leura Cascade Lookout, and of course we had a spectacular view of the Blue Mountains here as well. We had dinner at a small restaurant in Leura that did not really look all that nice, but the food tasted good. With the kids, there are not a lot of places in Leura you can have dinner, unfortunately.
