We gaan naar het strand / We are going to the beach

Het wordt vandaag ongeveer 28 graden en dat is echt een strandtemperatuur. Erik gaat vanmorgen eerst nog even bij de dokter langs, want zijn verkoudheid is nog niet over en hij begint pijn te krijgen aan zijn wang en zijn hoofd. Hij blijkt een bijholte- en voorhoofdsholteontsteking te hebben. Met een kuurtje moet het overgaan. We besluiten wel naar het strand te gaan want anders doen we thuis toch ook helemaal niks. We gaan naar Frenchmans Bay, bij La Perouse. Dit is een strand dat ligt aan Botany Bay en je kijkt uit op Port Botany Container Terminal. Je kunt hier de containerschepen voorbij zien varen en de vliegtuigen zien landen bij het vliegveld. Klinkt niet zo leuk, maar het fijne van het strand hier is dat er niet zo’n grote golven zijn en Fleur en Daan dus lekker zelf in het water kunnen spelen. Wij hebben lekker onder de parasol liggen lezen en Fleur en Daan hebben fijn in het water en het zand gespeeld. Het was een heerlijk relaxte dag en we hebben er echt van genoten. Moeten we toch maar wat vaker gaan doen, een dagje naar het strand.

It is going to be around 28 degrees today and that is a good temperature to go to the beach. Erik is seeing the doctor first this morning, because his cold is not over yet and it is starting to hurt on his cheeks and forehead. She tells him that he has a sinus infection. He gets antibiotics which should make it better. We do decide to go to the beach because otherwise we are not going to do anything at home. We go to Frenchmans Bay, at La Perouse. This beach is at Botany Bay and you look over to Port Botany Container Terminal. You can see the container ships pass and see the airplanes land at the airport. It does not sound that good, but it was very nice because there are no big waves here and Fleur and Daan could play in the water by themselves. We have been reading under our big umbrella while Fleur and Daan were playing in the water and the sand. It was a lovely and relaxed day and we really enjoyed it. We should do that more often, just go to the beach for the day.
